Craft Atelier

Crafting and Contemporary Weaving

About

Founded in 2018, Craft Atelier is Singapore’s first community-minded studio dedicated to crafting and contemporary weaving. They host small-group workshops and sessions in a range of crafts and hand-making techniques such as crocheting, knitting, hand weaving and shuttle tatting. Workshops are typically conducted in English but the instructors are also fluent in Mandarin. In addition to workshops, they also provide one-to-one tutorials and consultations to those who are embarking on their own crafts project and who may not need help at every stage of their project. Craft Atelier is passionate about sharing their knowledge and tools and offers a wide variety of crafting supplies, tools and craft equipment rental services. Committed to building a community of crafters, part of Craft Atelier’s studio space also serves as a retail platform for fellow crafters to showcase their craft and handmade creations.

About The Owner

Hi, we are Chen Chen and Hui Lian, the founders of Craft Atelier.

Full-time teachers for more than a decade each, making crafts and creations have always been our passion. Inspired by the craft guilds overseas, it was always our dream to open a studio and grow a community of people passionate about crafts locally. Learning something is always easier when we have like-minded friends to support and walk the journey with us. At Craft Atelier, people can come together, explore, and share their knowledge with each other. The Chinese name of “Craft Atelier” uses word play to celebrate how we each embark on our crafting journey with different intentions. As we explore our interests in crafting, the value it creates for ourselves and others will evolve in different ways. Regardless of where that journey will take, there is no judgement, only celebration of the joy of crafting, the pride of creating something by hand and gratitude for the friendships formed!
