Nyananyana Eco Fashion
Organic Clothing, Sustainable Fashion
Nyananyana is a Singapore-based slow fashion brand and a social enterprise that focuses on a better working environment for the maker and healthier products for the consumer and the earth at every stage of the supply chain.
Nyananyana’s EcoBatik uses all-natural material; carefully made fabrics that not only give a good touch to our skin, but also tender touch to nature. They come from a selection of organic certified GOTS and Oeko-tex material from ethical factories and hand-weave precious fabrics made by home industry artisans. All the prints are hand-stamped or manually printed using real batik (resist dye) methods with non-toxic natural dyes from plants.
Nyananyana hopes to educate its customers on a simple fact – artisan equals sustainable.
Hi, I am Clara Simanjuntak, the founder and designer of Nyananyana. Before this, I worked as an architect with six years of experience in Bali, Bandung, and Singapore.
In 2010, I was diagnosed with a serious illness, and after treatment, I desired to live a healthier lifestyle. I came across organic food and found out that organic fabric also has a similar health impact on the customers who wear them. It not only benefits the consumer; organic clothing and natural dyes are non-toxic options that are better for the farmer, producer, and the earth at every stage of the supply chain.
As the world becomes more conscious of the detrimental effects of the textile industry, conversations surrounding slow, sustainable and ethical fashion settle into our daily lives.
I am grateful for the God-given health recovery; hence I began conceptualizing Nyananyana in Singapore and started the company in 2019.
