True passion lies within the things we hold dearest, and no matter how unattainable the goal may seem- confidence to strive for it is key.

Though I am considered ethnically Indian, I have lived in Indonesia for the majority of my life, baring the time I completed my education in Journalism and International Studies from the University of Washington, Seattle. Juggling between Indonesian, Indian, and American identities, I am a strong believer of inclusivity (and in this case, that includes the finance world too!)
After running the social media strategy for Microsoft OneNote and Office, I now lead Lucy’s Social and Marketing and also act as a Producer for Hatch. Working alongside Rebecca Yik and Luke Janssen, I’ve come to realize the thrill of kickstarting businesses- from generating an idea all the way to creating a finished product.
Which brings us to Lucy. Lucy challenges the norm. In my personal experience, it has helped me question my South Asian cultures’ struggles with the systemic notion that all men should be society’s breadwinners, or that a STEM path automatically equates to success.
I’ve been in Uber rides or dinner parties where people look at me and say, “oh you’re Indian, you must be an engineer…” while others have told me “oh but it’s fine if you’re not one, you can just marry someone who is!”
I believe that every woman has the potential for greatness but sometimes society makes them think otherwise. True passion lies within the things we hold dearest, and no matter how unattainable the goal may seem- confidence to strive for it is key.
