Emma Watson

Best known as actress Hermoine in the Harry Potter series, Emma Watson has presented herself as more than just a celebrity. She’s played an active role in humanitarian causes for several years now, especially when it comes to women’s rights.

In 2014, Watson was announced as U.N. Women Goodwill Ambassador by the United Nations. She was chosen to be an advocate for the HeForShe gender equality campaign- a program that focuses on improving the status of women by inviting boys and men globally to stand side by side with girls and women. Her speech on gender equality at the time broke records in the internet, with the most views and shares.

She’s been involved in the advancement of girls’ education for years in Bangladesh and Zambia, has promoted fair trade clothing, and has served as an ambassador to educate girls in rural Africa (for Camfed International). At the age of 25, she was listed in TIME’s top 100 of the world’s most influential people.
